About Us
Founded and Owned By a Physical Therapist
TheraMatrix Services, Inc. (TSI) is the result of the vision of its founder, Robert E. Whitton, PT, who felt there was a better way to provide physical rehabilitation services. Mr. Whitton established TSI in 1981 and quickly grew the company to include a group of physical therapy clinics in Southeastern Michigan, each delivering physical rehabilitation services to patients and payers with a high level of quality in a cost-effective manner.
Innovative Model Leads to National Network
This approach became so successful the TSI family grew to include 13 clinics – a network extensive enough to provide companies in Southeastern Michigan with this alternative physical therapy management approach. The network delivered unprecedented patient satisfaction scores as well as bottom-line savings for payers that ran counter to the prevailing trend of skyrocketing health care costs.
TSI has now expanded nationwide and includes thousands of networked physical therapy clinics in more than 40 states through the TheraMatrix Physical Therapy Network (TPTN).
CMS Accreditation Since 1982
TSI has been recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), as a National Certified Rehabilitation Agency – the highest level an outpatient facility can achieve. TSI also is active with professional and civic organizations including the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the National Association of Rehabilitation Agencies (NARA), and local Chambers of Commerce. TSI is a minority owned enterprise, certified by the Michigan Minority Business Development Council and is an equal opportunity employer (EOE).
